The name says it all – ‘The Sherwood Hideaway’. As you drive off the main road you are engulfed in a drive way guided by the trees of the forest, taking you into an idyllic Hideaway away from the hustle and bustle that is day to day life. A place free from distractions, where you’re able to truly relax and unwind.
We sit on land which is part of the Thoresby Estate owned by the Pierrepont family since 1630 and one of the four Heritage estates which formed ‘The Dukeries’
Thoresby Park was laid out in the 17th century in a formal, geometric, Jacobean style. This was subsequently softened and rounded on the advice of Capability Brown and then Humphrey Repton, both of whom we must thank for the mature landscape that we now enjoy.
In 2009 the Pierrepont family formed a joint venture with a luxury lodge developer to rejuvenate the former Ministry of Defence Proteus Park site… to give us The Sherwood Hideaway.
The village of Amroth is only a quick walk away with a host of great pub and restaurants nearby. Picturesque Tenby is a short drive away and has a whole host of unique leisure activities, including boat trips, al fresco dining, independent shopping and golfing. Enjoy stunning Pembrokeshire and all it has to offer; family fun such as theme park and zoos, hikes, foraging and rock climbing for the adventurous and so much more.
